Indian Restaurants That Rock: Part I
,The other week we asked for your top Indian restaurant picks in Metro Vancouver! Our knowledgeable, cuisine-loving fans came back with some great picks that pass the taste-test with flying colours! Here is part one of your recommendations!
Tasty Indian Bistro, Delta
First up is Tasty Indian Bistro in Delta, which came heavily recommended by many of our followers, including Twitter user @sujalv99. Aptly-named, the restaurant “prides itself on (its) exquisite menu and ambience.” Savour the succulent spices and flavours of their authentic Indian cuisine, and enjoy the unique, contemporary design. TripAdvisor reviewer Ruby1975 says that “if you are looking for authentic excellent Indian food with great service and great ambiance, then this is the place to go… the food is excellent and the service is excellent. You will not be disappointed.” >> Explore the menu
Grand Tandoori Flame, Langley
Just down the road in Langley, the Grand Tandoori Flame is heralding many rave reviews from Urbanspoon, and our own Facebook fan, Jared Martin! Urbanspoon reviewer, Dan Diamonds exclaims that, “Having been to a ton of Indian restaurants, this is by far the best Indian food I have had. The spices are perfect, rich and bring out the food’s flavour to its fullest. The food was hot and so fresh and the flavours were mouth-wateringly out of this world. Also, owners Harry and his wife Rani were very friendly and accommodating. We will return regularly – even though it’s a drive from our home in North Van! It’s really that worth it.” >> Explore the menu
Mumbai Masala, North Vancouver
Tucked away in Park & Tillford Mall in North Vancouver, Mumbai Masala is a hidden gem according to Mary Ann Bell! DineHere reviewer SonofFood raves “I love this place! I’ve been here over a dozen times and I keep coming back for the flavors and the prices. The food is tasty, fresh and relatively cheap. The Chicken Masala, Vindaloo, Dal, Chana Masala, Lamb Korma & Garlic Naan are all regular choices. But, try the Tandoori Lamb (one of the more expensive dishes on the menu at $16) – it is a taste sensation.” >> Explore the menu
Rasoi Fine Indian Cuisine, Surrey
Surrey is a hotspot for delectable Indian eats, so it came as no surprise when @fraservalleygal recommended Rasoi Fine Indian Cuisine in South Surrey. Vancouver Sun restaurant reviewer Shannon Kwantes made a trip there in 2011, and told that “The flavours, aromas and textures of the food that Rasoi serves are a testament to its authenticity. Most dishes are served à la carte style, and…are served in antique-looking copper bowls and plates with copper spoons to match. The presentation was lovely.” Favourites include their infamous Butter Chicken, Mint Chicken and Lamb and Aloo Gobi. >> Explore the menu
