If you like smoke and lightnin‘, heavy metal thunder, racing in the wind, and the feeling that you’re under, then the Vancouver Motorcycle Show happening close by in Tradex, Abbotsford is guaranteed to get your motor running. Sporting hundreds of 2013 motorcycles, scooters and ATVs from the world’s top manufacturers, this widely-anticipated showcase event provides an up-close glimpse into the world of the motorcycle lifestyle. It’s happening January 17-20, 2013, so get buckled in for some hog-wild fun!

What exactly is the Motorcycle Show like? To get some first-hand perspective, we checked out this review from Princess Scooterpie (yes, that really is the name of the blog), an enthusiast from the 2012 show:

I was in Moto Diva Heaven! For as far as the eye could see it was wall to wall bikes, Honda, Triumph, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Harley, BMW, Victory, Moto Guzzi, Ducati, Aprillia – it was like a veritable bike candy store! I must have sat on 30 or more bikes. It was great wandering around to the different dealers and trying out their bikes. I tried everything, cruiser, sport, dual sport, OH MY GOSH! We stopped by the gear vendors and checked out what they had, tried on helmets, gloves, looked at boots, jackets, shoes, pants, heated grips, tank bags and other moto-luggage. My brain was in overload. I am definitely going back next year and I am planning to go to the Seattle show in December this year.

We admire the Princess’ enthusiasm, but what will your experience be like in 2013?

“Whether you’re in the market for a bike or not, the 2013 show has something for everyone and for all ages”, says Show Manager Lauri Paetz. “Much more than an expo, this year’s show will feature Team Empire’s freestyle stunt riders, who have become famous for their series of viral online motorcycle videos.”

The British Motorcycle Owners Club is preparing the Vintage Motorcycle Display at the show. As a member of the Club, South Surrey resident Jim Bush is going to be showing two bikes: a MV Magni Race Replica and a 1952 Norton Model 7 Dominator.

As a special bonus for the ladies, January 19 is She Rides Night, where women get in for half-price after 5 pm, with demonstrations and activities that are aimed at encouraging female riders.

The event promises to be a high-energy event that the whole family can enjoy. Check out the latest heavy metal thunder destined to cruise the highways.
